I think most people's problem with rpf is often along the lines of "it's creepy to write porn, specifically, about real currently living people." I haven't watched The Crown but I'd be surprised if it had the kind of sexually explicit content that rpf sometimes has.

Ehhh, after only watching a few episodes at the beginning, it already had a scene which heavily implied then-Princess Elizabeth giving Philip a blowjob.

There's an insinuation of the same after she's queen, too.

Implied, sure, but there wasn't any detailed description of anyone's genitals I'm guessing. Which is more than one can say for some rpf

I feel like there's also a relevant difference between implying sex between people who were absolutely 100% undeniably married to each other for decades and had several children, and writing explicit porn about people who aren't actually together. I'm sure there are exceptions, but the vast majority of RPF is less "Liz bangs her actual husband Philip" and more "Liz bangs Margaret Thatcher", and I'm pretty sure The Crown would get a, uh, rather different reception if it did the latter.

This. It's understood that two people who are married or in a relationship are probably having sex with each other, so there's nothing scandalous about that being implied.

I'm not prince Phillip but I sure wouldn't want anyone assuming that I do oral or not.
