My neighbor is experiencing hearing loss, but refuses to go to the doctor because "it'll go away on its own". In the meantime, he cranks his radio ridiculously loud in the morning when he's getting ready for work and it's driving me batty. He's a good neighbor otherwise, but I don't understand "waiting it out" when dude's got good health insurance.

Is he older? Older people, especially men often hate admitting things like hearing or eyesight going.

Yeah, he's in his early sixties.

This is my dad, except he just thinks it isn't bad enough yet to need to go to the doctor. Except it really is because we always have to repeat everything we say to him multiple times, he can't ever hear phone conversations, and he cranks up the tv so loud I can hear it through my closed door and ear plugs at night.

I'm not a doctor but I don't think hearing loss "goes away on its own."

It can; my mom's hearing came and went when she was dealing with multiple cancers and chemo. But that doesn't sound like this dude's problem.
