I've always wondered what people taste like..... In the end, we're all meat. Not gonna go on a pet-or-people-eating spree or anything, but...eh.

I think people who have eaten human meat describe as tasting like sweeter pork.

(Anonymous) 2021-05-26 11:14 pm (UTC)(link)
And people that works in crematory says that burnt fat smells like pork fat as well.

Interesting. :D

(Anonymous) 2021-05-26 11:24 pm (UTC)(link)
From what I remember, that's because mostly the non-bird and non-fish meat most cannibals had access to was pork, and based on chemical composition and stuff we'd taste more like lean beef.

Although based on our diet, you'd think humans would taste more like pigs since we're both omnivores.

That's why it's called long-pork.

If I had the opportunity to try ethically-sourced human meat, I totally would.

Right?

(Anonymous) 2021-05-27 12:49 am (UTC)(link)
That's...nightmarish.

(Anonymous) 2021-05-27 01:07 am (UTC)(link)
And just because I feel I need to to clarify: I mean "ethically sourced human" is a nightmarish concept, not you. You're just speculating about the taste like the rest are, and that's fine(and not really super uncommon).

But the concept just reminds me of a horror film or 'The Promised Neverland', with there being different kinds of farms for harvesting humans for food. So even the more "ethical" one disturbs me.

AYRT

I was thinking about something like lab-grown meat, which is cultivated from cells and doesn't require killing anything: https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2020/dec/02/no-kill-lab-grown-meat-to-go-on-sale-for-first-time

There was an internet hoax years ago about "Celebrity Meat" and I found it hilarious.

Ah gotcha. That does sound a lot less horrible, so I totally get it now.

If I remember correctly, there was a reddit thread where a guy lost his foot, asked for it (accident, not disease based loss), and literally cooked it up as 'taco meat' for a select group of friends.

And we taste like buffalo, apparently. (For those who haven't had buffalo, think leaner, gamier beef).

Reddit thread in question, content warning.

Wow.
Funny, that - usually the hospital/doc/whatever won't let you keep ...anything. My daughter wanted to keep her wisdom teeth, and they wouldn't allow it.

I guess it depends on the city/county/state? It sounds like quite a bit of paperwork was involved.

Late response here, but there are women who eat their placenta after they have given birth, for some reason. It can be a family meal, too, and midwives can prepare it for you. See if you can get an invite to a post-baby-delivery meal, eh?

Heee!
Well, I dunno...that doesn't really seem like the meat of a person...I dunno.
I don't know anyone who's pregnant - none of my friends want kids/are past the age where they would have a kid, and that works for me.
