Oh, word. I have a few friends I can play with, even, but it's an endless nightmare trying to get enough of them in a room at once for a round of Ticket to Ride.
Also, turns out that a lot of games that say they can be played with two people? Really can't, not and still be fun.

Makes sense to me. You want stories that you identify with, while some people want something more escapist. I'm somewhere in between, myself - which I prefer depends on my mood

Settlers of Catan is ridiculously fun. A college friend played it with her family and introduced me. Because my parents lived overseas, I'd stay with her family over holidays. And we played Catan a lot. Sadly, I don't own the game since I can't afford it, and even if I did no one in my family is interested in playing.

Someday, though. Someday I will own a set and find a group of game friends to play with. I love board games.

I don't really like board games but I would love a consistent RPG group, especially one that was open to playing things that aren't D&D

Has anyone else here played Mysterium? I've played it once or twice and really enjoyed it, but it's... It's a game that really needs at least four people, and a pretty solid chunk of time, *and* it's really hard to explain to newcomers.
[for those unfamiliar: one person plays a ghost while the other players are mediums. The ghost uses surreal visions to communicate (you get a stack of cards with surreal art to hand out), with the goal of communicating the who, where and how of your murder]

Totally makes sense to me. For me, though, it is the opposite. I couldn't explore my sexuality at all when I was younger. I wasn't even allowed to admit I thought about sex. And I'm not able to be out now with my family. So I find it super cathartic to read about and imagine worlds where prejudice doesn't exist and differing sexualities is just a normal, accepted part of life.
