The ghost uses surreal visions to communicate (you get a stack of cards with surreal art to hand out), with the goal of communicating the who, where and how of your murder]

Settlers of Catan is my absolute favorite game. I was introduced to it in college and have loved it ever since.
But I played a lot of games as a kid with anyone who would play with me. Candy Land, Monopoly, Clue, Life, Risk, Scrabble, Checkers and Chess, Chinese Checkers, Connect 4, Boggle, Jenga, Mastermind, Chutes and Ladders, Trouble, Sorry, Apples to Apples, all sorts of card games, Dominoes, and Rook.
I collect Monopoly sets (I Have Cat Lovers Monopoly, Dogopoly, Treehouse of Horror monopoly, 3 different Star Wars monopolies, Doctor Who Monopoly, Bostonopoly, a Croatian one, regular Monopoly, and the Mega Edition) and then various other nerdy versions of games (I have Star Wars Life, Star Wars Risk, Star Wars and Star Trek Trivial Pursuits, and
The ones I'd still like to get are Lord of the Rings Monopoly (there seem to be multiple versions, I'd love em all), Hobbit Monopoly, Star Trek Catan, regular Catan, Star Wars Clue, Doctor Who Clue and Risk and Monopoly and Trivial Pursuits, The Hobbit board game, the Buffy board game, MCU Risk, Avengers Monopoly, LOTR Risk, War of the Ring game, Journeys in Middle-Earth game, Dune: Imperium, Scythe (a really fun steampunk game), Gloomhaven (supposedly the best RPG game), and the Isle of Cats.
And then I want a Cards Against Humanity deck, an Apples to Apples deck, and a Rook deck (Rook is a family tradition on my dad's side).
Someday when I actually have a full time job and money. Yup, really love playing board games. Never really got into video games, but board games are a whole lot of fun.

(Anonymous) 2021-05-28 01:45 am (UTC)(link)I love LOVE big ridiculous resource management games like Terraforming Mars and to a lesser extent Agricola, but time is always an issue and I haven't gotten to play either in years. :'(
My parents, both in their late 60s, have really taken a liking to a lovely engine builder game called Wingspan, and it's opened them (and my aunt and uncle, who they've infected with Wingspan) up to the whole world of board games. We enjoy playing that if we have an hour and a half, or when time is short, a few rounds of Splendor. There are so many little card deck based games I'd love for them to try, but -I- haven't played enough of em even

(Anonymous) 2021-05-28 02:54 am (UTC)(link)Taboo is always a good time! Cards Against Humanity, a friend introduced me to Red Flags (which is hilarious when played with the right people-- you need to bring your game and get ready to argue that your steaming pile of shit is better than other steaming piles of shit lol), recently played The Loser Game, which honestly hit many nerves with all of us playing lol that one gets in a bit deep, and i recommend playing with people you're close to or people you'll never see again.
I miss Parcheesi! And I used to play Monopoly for hours :)

Re: Board Games
We also play the hell out of Ticket to Ride (so many different versions, both physical and on the playstation). And Jackbox which isn't really playing a board game but it's the group game idea and it's really fun.

(Anonymous) 2021-05-27 10:26 pm (UTC)(link)I travelled interstate for the first time since January last year so I could meet my three month old niece, and three days before I was going to go home there was a Covid outbreak. It spread quickly enough that a lock down has been put in place, so... I'm stuck here. At least a week, maybe two.
I have an online exam this weekend and I don't have a desk. I've tried talking to my university and everyone I talk to tells me to talk to someone else.
Also I've only got like... 6 more days of my meds. That's including antidepressants and ADD meds.
I am really, really fucked.

Re: What’s happening, FS?
Woke up nauseous and with a massive migraine.
And we've had installation/repair men here since 9, so I haven't been able to go back to bed. I finally took a quick trip to Walgreens 30 minutes ago to get my Tramadol refill. My dad had asked me earlier to wait until the workmen left, but I finally couldn't stand the pain anymore, threw up, and begged my mom to talk him into being okay with me going.
Pain and nausea are less now but still there. I'm in my bedroom with my kitty now, though, because she needed attention. If the workmen need anything, they know I'm in here. As soon as they leave, I'm going to sleep.

(Anonymous) 2021-05-28 12:13 am (UTC)(link)it's all in the sinus, only in the sinus. no cold symptoms, no covid symptoms, no fever, nothing but a stuffed, runny, painful, inflamed nose and sinuses. she treated me with antibiotics just to rule out an infection. it did nothing. I'm about ready to cry except I know that that would just send even more mucus into my nose. I feel bad nagging her for the third time to try to find something that solves the problem sooner than waiting 2 more months for an appointment or a test but I'm fucking desperate.

(Anonymous) 2021-05-28 12:34 am (UTC)(link)Managing somehow but with a fuckload of work to do. Due date: tomorrow. My client is going to be pissed off tomorrow when she finds out I didn't manage to save her ass this time.
Night classes are worse than ever. I tried telling my peers that I can't, on top of having classes Mon-Sat and assignments and tests every other day, organize a schedule because they can't bother to share theirs, and if they don't, I won't work on my part and so not only my grades will get screwed but also, and more importantly to them, they will have to overwork to compensate for me as well.
They don't like me for reasons beyond my control (something like, I'm too old and some old people before me fucked up big time or whatever) so they think they're teaching me a lesson by making me break down. Nah chill out I've been fucked over enough in this life already lol the only lesson you're teaching me by doing that is that you too are a piece of shit. But. Whatever.
Other than people making me lose my mind by being utterly irrational, I'm fine. Chilling here, trying to keep the cortisol levels just below a total memory loss and there's another tab with my class and yet another with one of two assignments I will have to finish by tomorrow (my brain can barely function properly enough to eat, ofc I can't think straight to learn this in 2 hours).
Great times (tm)

Also, a few weeks ago I discovered that a stray cat had babies in my backyard, and ever since then she and they have been living in my dad's office, getting cuter every day. We named the mama Parker and may be keeping her depending on how she ends up getting along with our other two cats, Chi and Maya. We're also most likely going to keep two of the kittens. They're all unbelievably adorable and getting more adventurous, playful and affectionate by the day, although their love for climbing up my legs is also increasing on a daily basis. It's like they're five tiny Hobbeses and my calf-meat is Calvin coming home from school. Still, they're impossible to stay annoyed with 'cause they're so damn endearing. I'll gladly put up with the bad kind of shredded calves in exchange for getting to have them in my life for however long I get to.
Oh, and by the way, don't worry! The ones we keep will be indoors-only and will be spayed/neutered as soon as it can safely be done, and the ones we re-home will only be given to people who will also keep them indoors and spay/neuter them.
