I've never seen this but now I want to and I had a similar experience with some other works, but, yeah, maybe this is why I have always liked fictional male/male relationships better. Some people think it's because it's either "fetichistic" or "distancing" but really, it's just because the stories are often better. Mainstream media rarely has space for treating women as complex, non-fetishized humans and I can't relate to those TV-made women, particularly of the non-straight variety, who are often just Eve 2.0, mYsTeRiOuS seductresses, or naive kids, or (insert here limited number of character traits).
