'Maurice' is awesome. I love all his books, and this is probably my favorite. The movie is delightful, as well. Forster made sure it was not published until after his death, sadly, for fear of the reaction from friends and family and the law.

The 'gay but miserable' trope in most gay/lesbian fiction is what drove me to fanfiction, frankly, though at least it's better now than it was.
