118. I laughed so hard at that first post. It was the three-armed OC. It destroyed me. To be honest, the subsequent stuff isn't really funny to me anymore, but the original post is still golden. I love you, P4 fandom. ~~And we have the best kink meme EVER.~~

120. YES. <3 I latched on to that pairing pretty much as soon as they were introduced. I like to imagine them going on friendly outings with Souji and Yosuke that turn into double dates by the end. :D

150. My ten-year-old self would've cried for a few minutes over him not dating me, but then she would've gotten over it and loved the show even more. Those two were always awesome together.

163. I kind of see where you're coming from, and I don't ship Keith/Rachel myself, but I'm bothered by the way you stated this. "The point" of her being on TV has NOTHING to do with her orientation or relationship status. It's because she's good at what she does. She deserves a show. If she was straight and/or single, she'd STILL deserve her show. I think you might've missed the point of her being on a popular TV station.

More to the point, they miss why it's awesome to HAVE a lesbian in a committed relationship on a popular show. I don't mean that that's why she has her show, but that's one of the multitude of reasons why I'm glad she does. It's sort of frustrating to see someone who is like me erased, because for some reason people feel the need to ship her with a man.

That phrasing makes a lot more sense to me. :) I'm really pleased that someone who's not straight has become so prominent, so respected and popular, and the fact that she's in a committed relationship (and thus working against the horrible assumption that homo/bisexuality = promiscuity) just adds to the win. I completely get the point you're getting at. I'm not the type to tell anyone they can't ship something (I'm not into RPF myself, but goodness knows I have plenty of ships that go against presumed orientations from canon), but I can definitely see why it bothers you, especially since we're dealing not with fiction, but with real people here.

They don't miss it - they just don't let it interfere with their shipping.

I've noticed they don't let little real life things like the fact that lesbians face as much prejudice as gay men, and are constantly told "you just need to find the right man" interfere with their fantasies about her with a man. Because that would be a double-standard.

I don't think they think about it enough to really say "it would be a double standard." Goes like this: I like Rachel, she is funny and liberal! I like Keith, he is funny and liberal! OMG, I SHIP IT.

And the fact that they don't take into consideration Ms Maddow's sexuality is blatant and textbook heterosexism.
