103. I've seen a couple that I like, and I'd never say I hate an entire medium. but I'm not a fan of the art style, it gives me headaches. Honestly, I've had to take advil more than once trying to sit through a few. Unless the story is right on amazing, the art pulls me out of it.

156. To me it's a matter of respect. Golden rule and all that. I would be extremely uncomfortable and creeped out if someone wrote fiction about me, especially with someone else I have no involvement with. No, nobody ever WOULD. But knowing how I would feel makes it very hard to not be bothered by it on behalf of those involved. I don't think it should matter if someone is famous or a nobody like me. I also feel for real life spouses/partners/whatever of the people involved. Does it do any actual harm? No. But I imagine it would kinda suck to have a fandom's energy invested in not wanting you in the picture because it interferes with their 'ship'. I've seen a minor reality celebrity's girlfriend get harassed and "spied" on because she was in the way of a 'ship'. I think people inherently deserve more respect than to have their lives become fodder for all of what goes on in fandoms.

Just my uptight two cents.

Although there are 2 or 3 that I've been recommended and watched and enjoyed for the plot, I don't go out of my way to look into it because anime faces usually just...squick me, idk. =/ But it just seems like you don't leave anyone who doesn't like anime out in that description...

I think the OP was more commenting on people who dismiss the genre as a whole because it's a cartoon or because of the fans rather than actaully watching it and deciding it's not their thing-- I don't particularly like romance novels, but that doesn't mean I don't think there can't be a single good one out there, if you get my point.
