114 - I SHIP IT TOO. And fandom is not dead, you just need to know where to look.

128 - All Disney villainnesses are ugly? WUT? Maleficent wasn't, the Evil Queen in Snow White wasn't (until she became the hag), Ursula sure as hell wasn't (her design was based off of a drag queen, though, so how's that for a weird quirk?), Cinderella's stepmother wasn't ugly. Her stepsisters weren't drop-dead gorgeous, but they weren't hideous, and Anastasia was kind of quirky and cute, in my opinion. Am I missing anyone? I agree with you; I think the villainnesses are meant to be intimidating and elegant and wicked!

144 - I wish my high school chem teacher had been Mrs. Frizzle. Instead I got a lady who got deported and left us with a string of bad substitutes, including a guy who believed in voodoo (and brought in pictures of a witch doctor digging into a human with his bare hands). Yeah, electrons and moles? I have no idea.

I've been noticing Aria's Ink getting a decent amount of traffic. FFnet always generates some stuff, but it's not always good. Plus, there are a ton of LJ communities like silver_circle and gold_circle that are focused specifically on Sailor Moon.

People talk about Maleficent because she became the dragon (how that affects her human form is beyond me) and the Queen because of the hag (although that was a spell as well).

Ursula's design was based on a drag queen? Source?

Ah, Little Mermaid special edition DVD, I believe. Though I'm sure it must be on the web somewhere. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ursula_(The_Little_Mermaid)) Okay, Wiki's not the best place, but I remember it from the DVD, and at least Wiki cites their sources.

Cruella deVille wasn't ugly. Harsh-featured, but if she wore non-crazy styles she'd be very elegantly beautiful.

Ah, I forgot about Cruella! Yes, harsh-featured, but I think she could be elegant. I think that, keeping that in mind is what led to the casting of Glenn Close as Cruella in the live actions; she seemed to fit the bill rather well.
