Really? :o I loved and still love Sugah's stuff, and Vain's work (though generally gen) is some of my favourite. I also really liked ainokitsune's fics (though I can't go to look at them right now because my browser is fucked all to hell).

I don't know any of the fics by name or author, so I really have no idea what you're talking about. XD In general, though, I either found the prose to be God-awful, or the characters completely OOC, or a tragic mix of both. But like, if you look at the recs over at the Daisuke/Ken ship manifesto, I couldn't get through most of them because I just thought they were so terrible and not at all the characters I loved and it made me sad that the fandom thought these were it's best works.

I do! I can. Proudly say I take up most of the first page of that comm at the moment, lmfao. :(

And... that's all I can think of, honestly. I didn't much care for Herongale's, and I can't check if ainokitsune did Daiken as well as her Taiken+others fic, so that's all I can link right now. :X

I didn't really like her stuff, and I never liked Kinslayer's stuff either, which is hard to say anywhere without the entire fandom seeming to want to lynch you. 8( But I don't know. Most of the time when I was reading the popular fics from back in the day, it was like the epilogue all over again but with more gay; they were the characters I loved only in name, not in character.

Also: I don't think you have, actually. 8')

:X Just be warned-- I can't actually check what Vain wrote, for whether or not it's actually Daiken. The one I remember best is actually a fic that turned out to be mostly gen, with some possible OT3/friendship vibes going on strong.

I think it's because she was a BNF-- and so naysayers get booted off the boat. One other thing to consider with old!fiction: most of the authors? Were probably pretty young themselves. Digimon came at a time that it could be the first fandom a lot of people played in, which usually means young writers abound.

OOC is just. Bleh. I can't stand it. Worst of all is when an author warns for OOC-- because if they know it's OOC, can't they fix it??
