I lost interest in her after a combo of her JohnLock conspiracy video and her not knowing what antis are. The TJLC video got under my skin for many small reasons and the anti stuff made me realize she's not actually involved in tumblr or fandom anymore. So I don't really care to hear her repeat what other people have said anymore.

But yeah, in general people who talk about fandom in non fandom spaces do this self flagellation thing and I'm tired of it. Either like something honestly and unironically or chug a pbr while I enjoy things myself.

Huh. I was in the Sherlock fandom and shipping Johnlock from 2011 to 2018, and I thought her TJLC video was spot on, and really enjoyable. *shrug*

I'm with you. And just because she hasn't said the term anti out loud doesn't mean she hasn't strongly implied that they're one of the more dangerous parts of many of the fandoms she covers.

Anon from two up, there was a thing on Twitter where she acted like getting bullied for your ships meant you were pathetic. It wasn't a great look.

To me it felt like while ot wasnt made by a tjlc'r it was made by only listening to tjlc'rs. "We were all tiny helpless LGBTQ+ babies who were led astray by this bad 30+ woman! We just wanted to see a gay man on BBC in the one show we bother watching so that excuses our racism and misogyny! It's ok that we bully people because the write dark fic!" And like if you're an outsider coming in to study a fandom I expect more objectivity. The narrative really tries to defend the rank and file and blame the power puff girls rather than really acknowledge that all fandoms and all of us have some issues we need to work on.

It rubbed me the wrong way, is what I'm saying.
