Well, it sure started out with a bang. Noticed at about 1am as I was getting ready for bed that there was some kind of very small insect swarming the back of my toilet, barely visible. I seem to have a dust mite infestation, and that startled me enough I couldn't sleep until about 3.

And then got another startling thing this morning. Long story short, the Chewy box that arrived on my side porch last weekend was not my auto-ship bunny pellets, but someone else's cat food, and I didn't know until I cut it open this morning to refill the buns' food containers. I never thought to question the box on my porch or look at it too carefully because there it was on my porch in the same size box as my usual auto-ship order, and 25lb of dry cat food weighs and sounds about the same as 25lb of bunny pellets.

So I started my day panicking because my buns were literally out of their regular food, rather than having enough to last for a couple months. Had to rush to place a pick-up order at a local pet store for a smaller bag, only to find that it was listed as "low in stock", which I know from experience sometimes means "out of stock". But fortunately, it really was just "low", and 15 minutes later got the email saying it was ready, so my buns have food for tonight now, and I will be dropping a note in my neighbor's mailbox saying "hey call/text me and I'll bring this down or you can come pick it up."

...So yeah, that was a little freaky. Been decent enough since. Really hot and sunny, had a nice walk through the forest and took some fun AR shots in Pokemon Go. Cleaned bunny boxes, brought in a new 50lb bale of hay (between that and the fresh bag of pellets, buns should enjoy dinner tonight!), hopefully made some headway against dust mites by cleaning the area around the toilet and the toilet itself really well. The fic that I insisted I was Not Writing and then gave in and started writing and then was abandoned by the muse... well, he seems to be back and more cooperative now, and it's looking a lot better than it was when it was a first draft and 1000 words shorter.

Make sure to tell chewy, they got great customer service.

Oh, I know, and they did nothing wrong here. FedEx just delivered the package two doors down from the house it should've been delivered to. :P I am not going to badmouth FedEx overall because my sis-in-law works for them and I know she does her best, but... she doesn't cover my neighborhood. Whoever covers my neighborhood has, historically, really not been on the ball. :P

Chewy, however, is fantastic. <3

I've gotten to a point where I just get my best friend to take any package I ordered at his house because the delivery people ALWAYS leave packages in the wrong part of the building or even in the yard and they're constantly getting lost.

I really don't have this issue with anyone other than FedEx. USPS does a great job, UPS was not responsible for the utter wtfery of a particular Amazon order that arrived in a reused envelope that no one had even taped closed again (that was kind of the last straw for me and Amazon), even the local Walmart delivery folks are awesome and leave photos in my email of the package sitting at whatever door they left it at, so I know when I have to go to the door I never use.

FedEx though... ugh. There was the time they apparently needed me to sign for a delivery, and showed up at 8am on a Saturday in the middle of summer, so I was asleep with the AC on and didn't hear the knock, woke up to a note on the door saying I had to wait until Monday and pick it up at their facility (which is only a couple blocks away, I could have picked it up literally anytime the rest of the day). Then Sunday morning, it was cooler and I had the window open. I got up and was pulling out of my driveway to go somewhere and saw a box on my front porch already. The one that allegedly needed a signature and I'd have to pick up in person the next day... had been left on my doorstep without so much as a knock. ...Uhm. Get your story straight, guys. -_-

FedEx, UPS, Amazon, the post office, they all screw up here.

Chewy is shockingly fast, too. I ordered something for my turtle and even with regular shipping it only took 1-2 days.

Yeah, I didn't really think anything when the box showed up without a shipping notification email this time, because Chewy is so fast sometimes I don't get the notification that it's shipped until after it's been delivered. So I just was like "oh good, perfect timing" and didn't open it until I needed it and then OOPS. XD

Fortunately my local Pet Supplies Plus is awesome, I got the notification the bunny food was ready for curbside pick-up about 15 minutes after I placed the order online. Honestly the only reason I do Chewy is because I have at times had so many buns to feed that I was buying 2 of the largest bags of top-tier feed PSP carries every month. As much as I like the place (and they know me as the crazy bunny person, and it's good to shop local), Chewy sells the same brand/variety in huuuuge bags that I only need to buy every couple months, and it's cheaper than buying multiple smaller packages even with shipping.

But well, my actual Chewy order with the huge bag is set to be here in two weeks, and one of the largest of PSP's packages will get everyone through until then. =)
