A/O dynamics as horror I'm not sure about - seems too broad to really shove into one genre - but specifically the mpreg part as body horror, yeah, IA.

I would be way more interested in A/O as a horror genre. The forced norms and role expectations, the basically slavery of omegas and the way A and O sexual roles are often built into the governments and worlds in A/O fiction. Very much feels horror to me, I wish more authors would take it in that direction and run with it.

Literally all I want out of A/B/O is heat and knotting. I don't want any worldbuilding whatsoever. I totally agree that the worldbuilding almost immediately becomes dystopian. But I have no interest in dystopias at all.

I like them as the horny bonefests that are fun and hate when it settles into typical societal dynamics but with two of the same sex. It's more interesting when the demure one is the alpha and the brash one is the omega and it's all just a fun time vs. anything like sexual slavery. More of a hurdle in a romantic comedy between two consenting adults instead of something sinister

but this as a concept is really interesting

This is the exact kind of A/B/O and A/O fic that avoid like the plague, because I utterly loathe the 'everything in society is forcing you to be like this and will actively hurt/imprison/drug/kill you to make you submit' kind of thing just....

You do you, OP - there's quite a lot of that out there, really, the kind of fic people are mentioning in comments. Might not be horror/dystopian so much, but the rigid roles, the near-slavery aspects, the govt. domination etc....

Ok, but like, I love it. The one thing that sets an A/B/O world apart from ours is that there's this whole other access to get pregnant on and so they could be popping out babies like daisies out of the snow. WHy would they need that evolutionary adaptation? Because they're living on some kind of hell world. Like Austrailia on steroids or in a constant battle against demon armies and they just always. need. more. men.

i may be in the minority, but i don't think it's a bad/stupid thing to have a crush on a celebrity? that's part and parcel of celebrity culture and how they're marketed, and it doesn't make you a bad person or a stupid person to get a crush on celelbrity man bo burnham or think he's hot. in all honesty, i don't think parasocial relationships are inherently bad--it's when they get mixed with entitlement over the person and bad boundaries is when it gets not great. the very fact that you're so concerned about it says (to me at least) that you wouldn't be weird or overly familiar with it, so just enjoy it for what it is.

(and truly, i did not expect him to be...hot? in this special? i understand that is not the point of the special and i have many feelings about it that are separate from that point. but like....the long hair and beard works for him!)
