I was rereading some chapters of Bleach the other day and literally every non-shinigami character, especially Ishida.

Chad and the girl who did martial arts (I literally don't remember her name) were done so dirty. They were set up as being useful to Ichigo as Luffy's crew is to Luffy and then literally forgotten about. They had ten times more potential than some of the shinigami lieutenants/hangers on and even those were done so dirty.

Tatsuki! I’m still so mad about her too, they teased that she could join the ‘main’ group so hard at the beginning and then shoved her to the side so that we could have 100+ chapters of watching literally every named shinigami fight literally every named Espada and their henchmen one by one.

The human cast got shafted so hard. I feel like even through Soul Society the series was about Ichigo and his group of human friends and then we hit Hueco Mundo and it became all about the shinigami (with occasional cameos from the actual main character).
