I love fics that play around with formatting (I actually wrote one that was all the comments on a character's weird youtube channel lmao), but I can't STAND chatroom or group text fics. The rapid back and forth just doesn't give me enough content to stay engaged and the memes are tiring and make them dated within a few months. Then again, I've never been a big chatroom/group text person irl, so maybe if I was more used to that way of interacting with people I'd find it less tiring.

If I hadn't read You Have 487 New Messages by JenTheSweetie, I'd be like, ugh, yeah, agree. But that fic is Hilarious, and actually really good, so...IDK, in my opinion it CAN be done well, even if it often isn't.
