I can tell you why -- we like fun songs, fancy costumes and history as well.

Americans might not be able to see past their own beaches, but history outside of our own country is taught in other places.

And y'know, King George III is hilarious. We love to poke fun at our own weird history and nation in general, so seeing him portrayed in a fun, irreverent way entertains us. English people love when English people are the villains.
