Care to share what ship it is, OP? Maybe someone will have some recs! Also, I feel you. I liked the messed up shit when I'm in the mood for it, but when I want sweet and cuddly stuff, I can't seem to find anything good. I always come across it when I'm not looking for it.

Aw thank you, anon! But I'd rather not say since it's a small ship in a huge fandom and I don't want authors to look at my secret and feel bad about DDDE stuff. Bring it all on! I'll gobble it up! Just not right now...

And yeah, sometimes I just want some sweet fluffy stuff. It's making me appreciate authors who write shameless sugary sweet stuff to heal the soul.
