It's as stupid as it is sexist. It's totally fine for women to simulate oral on guys in media but time and time again, the reverse is apparently something that has to be fought for.

What are some fandom things you just don't get?

Several of the secrets today made me realize I just don't get Chinese/Korean music or television trends. I don't get the encouraged parasocial band relationships or the soft, hazy, whitened look all the shows seem to have (especially ones set in old times).

To be honest, I can personally kind of live without that sort of pair-the-spares eat-your-veggies f/f ship. But I get what you mean.

I'm confused as how you see this as strictly a chinese/korean thing. Does no one remember NSYNC? BSB? NKOTB? One Direction?

But Korean (not sure if Chinese are the same way), have the social contract where singers are strictly controlled in ways where they can't even have boyfriends/girlfriends because it would take away their perceived availability by fans. Literally every part of their life in controlled to make them more appealing.

Sure, American boy bands have their image controlled but as far as I could tell, they could date freely, drink, etc.

This. Sure if there's another character (m OR f) that the lead girl has chemistry with, go ahead, but to just slap her with someone else for no reason isn't a think I like.
