I go back and forth between "no such thing as too old for fandom" and "there is so much more to life than fandom, time to grow up." I think both are true, to some extent, so finding balance is key (and the hard part).

I'd say drop names just so this people can be exposed/other people including me wont support them but that's up to you, OP. I'm the same. I'm not too old for fandom and I certainly don't feel that way, but I absolutely do not get deep into it like I did when I was younger. I just don't have the time to put so much of myself in it anymore and I'm not sad that I don't either, I've found a good balance for myself I think.

It's a hobby that I enjoy and that's more than good for me.

I think it also depends on the fandom and community that surrounds it. I like Warhammer 40k in the sense that it is both a satire and a tragedy, and Stellaris for the enormous storytelling potential it gives me when I play...

... and yet the fandoms themselves are so immature and disgusting, I can't help but think sometimes one is better off enjoying things on their own, and only sharing those loves with the people they themselves are close to.
