I go back and forth between "no such thing as too old for fandom" and "there is so much more to life than fandom, time to grow up." I think both are true, to some extent, so finding balance is key (and the hard part).

The latter by no means has to involve giving up fandom. It's just a hobby like any other.

Show me where I said it meant you have to give up fandom? In fact I said the exact opposite.

SA I...didn't say you did? My point was a more general one, although bouncing off your comment, that feeling too old (or whatever) for fandom may just mean dialing back, not being "lost without it".
No need to be touchy, mate.

Not being touchy, mate. When someone "bounces" off my comment (also known as replying directly to it, and therefore by definition not making a "general point") in a way that can be read as both critical and incorrect, I will make sure that I am not being misrepresented.

I'm the same. I'm not too old for fandom and I certainly don't feel that way, but I absolutely do not get deep into it like I did when I was younger. I just don't have the time to put so much of myself in it anymore and I'm not sad that I don't either, I've found a good balance for myself I think.

It's a hobby that I enjoy and that's more than good for me.
