No, having people think that though with no valid reason. I have a lot of people I've RPed with in the past who think I hate them for some reason and I have no idea.

I'm glad that people can actually admit that they come off as distant sometimes. ~_~;
I guess I just kind of feel weird being like "OK SO I NEED CLOSURE ON THIS, YOU WANT TO PAIR OUR CHARACTERS RIGHT?" But maybe I should do so.

I'd reccommend letting your unease, uncertainty, et cetera be known. They're probably doing it without realizing they are which I'm very guilty of myself. Saying something about it would put everything in prospective. I'd like to think that they really do enjoy playing with you and want to pair up your characters, so asking them would be the best option. I know how intimidated people can get. Still to this day I'm paranoid to even message some of my friends.

So I guess in a sense I've been both places at one time.
