I put this in a thread, but I'm just gonna do it here too:

Wen Kexing and Zhou Zishu are presented as romantic through its visual medium. just because they don't say "I love you" or kiss doesn't mean that they're platonic. Just because you don't recognise it doesn't mean that the original intended audience doesn't or that it's not there.

So, in conclusion: "just the way they are" for WKX and ZZS is romantic, not platonic.

Without opening the link my 2 cents - it can't be romantic because of the censorship laws. They might hint and bait but an out right romance has no chance to be anything but Web series in China if that.
