I have always found incest fic gross. That's not really something I'd keep secret.

But I have a friend who ships an incest ship (and realistically, with all the issues it causes, no glossing over) and ... I don't entirely hate the way they write it, sometimes it's even kind of cute? And I kind of want to write something for them just because no one else writes this ship. I know how it is to be the only person shipping something.

I just... don't think I can actually do incest fic. And even if I did, I don't think I'd want to put my name to it. My friend is far braver than I.

Do you think you could write something gen that *could* be read as shippy? If they're the only one shipping it that they know of, that might be enough to make them happy.

I wonder... I don't like writing smut to begin with so cuddling is likely the most I'd get around to. If I can get over my mental block that puts up a big "ew no" sign at the concept, even though I know that the way my friend writes it doesn't handwave or sanitize that it's incest (and the specifics of the circumstances in canon makes it more plausible).

Of course it occurs to me that I also shouldn't be weird about putting my name on it, considering that a lot of people write gift fic or exchange fic for pairings they are not enthusiastic about.

Eh. I'm posting it here rather than making a secret mostly so I can think out loud, I have no idea if I'll ever really try. But if so, thanks for the suggestion... I might be able to wrangle something.

No worries! I've ranted to the internet about writing problems before and received some very useful help, so I just wanted to try and give back~
