Day two of a horrible heat wave.
Looking forward to Friday, when it will really cool off.

I had an in person job interview today. It went amazingly well. I'll hear in a day or two, and if I get it the job would start on Monday. We'll see, but I'm hopeful.

I just woke up from a nap because I came home exhausted. Now I have my Toastmaster's meeting.

In bad news, my mousepad is now doing the clicking on its own thing again that I thought I had fixed last week.

It’s cloudy today, so the weather’s slightly less hellish, and I have leftover pizza, so life’s pretty good now.

UGH. Got another quote for trying to waterproof our basement so it is useable. $5000 is just too much right now since we are still paying off the AC/Heater. :(

my iPod keeps turning off randomly. I hope I don't have to buy a new one.

The freezer's dead, and now I think the refrigerator has begun to expire.

I got my second vaccine shot today! So far, just a little nauseous, which I expected since that's how it was with the first too.

Second night of basically no sleep due to sick bunny. Fortunately this time when I woke up to check on her and then call the vet as soon as they opened at 7am, turns out she was doing much better than when I'd gotten up from 2-3am to check on her and make her more comfortable.

But I wasn't going to be able to sleep since I was so relieved so I spent the whole day even more exhausted and physically miserable than yesterday, while working a longer work day. Now not sure if I want to take a bath or try to do something fun for myself or clean another bunny's box (due for it today and I forgot because I was so focused on my pretty little princess the last two days) or just go to bed.

I probably should do the bunny box and then just lie down and see if the muse wants to give me anything for the current fic project. (Why am I tempted to go out back and arrange the concrete blocks I carried out there last night and maybe cut up the spare lumber?)

What show, film, or character has the best costume design?

I think the costumes in The Fall (with Lee Pace) and Charlize Theron's costumes in Snow White and the Huntsmen are some of the most beautiful pieces I've ever seen.

Never seen The Fall but tons of people keep mentioning the costumes and saying what a beautiful film it is.

Lord of the Rings was amazing. Even the Hobbit movies, as many issues as they had, did great on costumes.

Star Wars costumes are great.

Legend of the Seeker had great costumes. Loved them.

Agree on Charlize Theron, and I'd add in the second movies as well.

I liked the costumes in the Warcraft movie.

I love the Cat's outfits in Red Dwarf!

Black Panther had some great design...except for the actual BP suit.

Not just the costumes but the entire art direction of Maleficent in general. I'm not sure it was really that amazing or if it's just that it hits my particular aesthetic. (Or one of them, I should say.)

And I have previously expressed my awe at the costuming on Buck Rogers (especially the first season) but that's not so much "best costume design" as "wow, I can't believe they actually did THAT, the designer was either tripping or has TREMENDOUS balls. But it WORKS. How does that work?"

Game of Thrones was dogshit at the end but they still had amazing costume design at least. I especially loved Sansa's coronation gown.

I know the movie is shit, but I absolutely love the costume designs in Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland.

I have to agree wholeheartedly with the Fall. It's also one of my favorite movies. And the costumes very much have to do with it.

I have fond memories of the costumes from Everafter. The final form Cinderella dress was just the most beautiful thing I had ever seen.

Also going to mention the Matrix.

I have additional fond memories of Xena and Hercules outfits -- pretty much all mid-late 90s - early 2000s fantasy/cheesy sci-fi shows. Legend of the Seeker. Jack of all Trades. Cleopatra 2121. Dark Angel. Something about those shows. And the outfits.

It's hard to say but I've always been blown away by the costuming in 2006's "Marie Antoinette", especially all of Kirsten Dunst's outfits as the title character. I also love Asian historical costumes so shoutout to films like "Devdas" (India) and "Hero" (China).

And really, I loved the attention to detail (especially in Megan and Peggy and Sally's clothes in the last 2 seasons) in Mad Men. I also loved all the clothes Romy and Michele wore in "Romy and Michele's High School Reunion".

There are probably other films with stunning clothing that I can't think of right now. Like all the costumes in "Crimson Peak". ISTG There are probably other really obvious films but I can't think right now.

Wishbone had some cute ones. Hee hee.

The Knight.s Story modern medieval costumes.
Stephen Strange magicians' clothes. Not sure about the evil guys eye makeup though.
Loved the main heroine's dresses in Garrow's Law.
Map and Lucia also did great. Those gay painter's time period appropriate outrageous outfits are something else!

You and a couple other people already mentioned Eiko Ishioka's work on The Fall, but my favorite costumes by her are Mina and Lucy's dresses for Bram Stoker's Dracula, with bonus points for old Dracula's red robe.

My favorite Colleen Atwood costumes are her designs for Sleepy Hollow.

And my favorite costume designs ever are Maria Bjornson's for the stage production of Lloyd-Webber's Phantom of the Opera; they're what got me into costuming.
