I threw my back out last week...sleeping.

so I'mma go with the ability to be in pain at any time for any reason and require weeks to recover.

No one cares about my birthday except me :( My mother would call but she passed away in February. Neither my husband nor my dad wished me a happy birthday let alone got me a card.

Everything hurts, but especially my knees and my back.

Weird sore body parts and no longer being able to easily make friends.

I actually have an easier time making friends than I did when I was a kid.
I'd vote for having to take care of myself when I get sick.

When all your friends get married and have kids and you’re that one single friend. I’ve gotten used to doing lots of things by myself because all my friends have other obligations that have to come first. Meeting up with them requires a lot of planning and coordination, so doing something spontaneous is never in the cards.

Being responsible for all the little things. I gotta cook my own food every night?? And keep my apartment clean?? And change the oil in my car?? And schedule my own appointments?? Can I hire an assistant? I have a full-time job; I need to outsource some of this. XD

Dude this. As someone with chronic pain and a full time job, I wish I had the disposable income for all the stuff that I just don't have the spoons for.

Feeling so directionless.

I didn't realise how I just adapted to being put into situations when I was a kid and had to go to school. Now that I'm older, it feels like a lot of work to do things that seem easy for everyone else like applying for work and trying to pretend that you're worth hiring, and not letting the failure of said interview get to you while repeating the process all over again.
Its worse when people ask what I want to do and 10 years on from leaving school I just want to survive. I don't have a dream or any kind of career plan, just a body that's crapping out and avoiding all interrogations from my family about finding a man/having babies of which neither are any interest to me. Closest thing that interest me is art, but I'm not actually good at it and I just stick with digital fanart to amuse myself. Otherwise I'm lying my ass off about wanting to go from retail to admin or a job that involves with dealing with less people.
Sorry for the random rant. adulthood sucks.

Yeah, I'd rather be a kid again if it wasn't for me having those eight years of ugliness. Adulthood sucks.

I'd agree with those who said pain, except I've had pain since before I was an adult due to a few different health issues. So that's not an adult-specific thing to me.

I'd say the responsibility that comes with being an adult, and the not feeling like you are up to the challenge of that responsibility. Or on the other hand being in a place where you are an adult but can't have responsibility (due to say having to live with parents for a time) and are chafing at not being able to really be an adult.

Making friends, keeping the ones you already have from drifting away, surviving under capitalism and the bleary knowledge that your future is to a certain extent up to you.

The crushing boredom that comes with having to work a full time job merely to keep a roof over your head and food on the table.

That and rotting teeth.

Probably the fact that I've been dealing with unbearable chronic pain for 30+ years instead of 5ish years.

I honestly wish they'd just let me die when I was 12. Or that I'd had the nerve to kill myself sometime around then.

I think as an adult, change has gotten a lot harder for me. It just keeps piling on.

Knowing your stupid body is gradually breaking down, and that you have to work even harder just to maintain it, than you did as a kid.

I guess equally shitty is the friends coming and going thing, or not knowing if they'll be around again.

Realizing how time keeps feeling like it's going by faster and faster and knowing that because of this even though I'm still young now and probably not quite halfway through my life, I'm going to get old and die in what feels like no time.
