My impression is that Jared acted less professionally on set.

He also acted worse on tape, IMO. Sam Winchester seemed about 75% phoned-in, and Jared Padalecki's rushed enunciation is just awful.

His fans think he was done dirty by the writers, but it's not like he wasn't in every episode.

There are plenty of stories of both of them doing stuff on set, pranking other cast members and stuff.

And plenty of stories of both of them being super-nice to guest stars and one-time actors, making sure they had everything etc.

I haven't ever read anything bad about any person on that whole show except for that one actor who turned out to be a creeper (he had a three or four ep run as a guy trying to kill Dean for killing his dad who'd been a rugaru, and now I can't think of his name....).

Padelecki has learned how to weaponize his fans really well. I know some his stans on Tumblr were sending messages to Misha Collin's publisher about how he is a terrible person in hopes they will drop him.

I don't follow their 'real lives' much, no, and I was talking to someone about them on set, so what they did off set wasn't part of the discussion.

This entire discussion has been about Jared's off-set behavior, what that means about him as a person, and how that may affect his former co-workers' desire to voluntarily interact with him in a professional setting now. You're the one who decided that Jared's honor needed to be defended, and then also decided to follow Jared!Stan tradition and attack people pointing out that Jared's got a years-long history of being a raging asshole to service industry workers and is not a great guy.

Also, unless you're saying that perving on assholes is your kink, you definitely don't know what 'kink-shaming' is.

The person I replied to made a comment about he 'pranked' people on set and was 'unprofessional', and I was replying to *that*.

I haven't attacked anyone - anon's have basically said 'you approve of doxxing people!!' which I nowhere said I did. Please link to me the comments where I approved of doxxing. Please link the comments where I 'attacked' anyone.

Or did you just conveniently skip over the 'I hate Tabaqui' anon who bops in here every few months to find something to interact with me about so they can say how much they hate me?

If me replying with my opinion about an actor's on-stage behavior, and how it's been reported and talked about in the news and on fandom sites for the last 15 years is 'stanning' or 'defending someone's honor', then wow, that happens *all the time* here.

That was me regarding the on set behavior, and I haven't replied in this subthread yet.

Jared has been known to poke Misha (I don't know about other people?) in the balls/crotch when they're shooting his coverage or he's delivering his lines.

I couldn't remember all the "pranks" discussed over the years, but found a writeup:

jared once poured $600 worth of coins in misha’s car, which he used to transport his kids. this actually rendered the seatbelts unusable, which put misha in danger. jared actively acknowledges that misha’s first son had just been born and he had no time to get it fixed, so he’d been driving around with no seatbelt.

jared loosened the screws on the bike rack on misha’s car. misha had to sit him down and explain to him that it could have killed someone.

jared once rear ended misha’s car because misha took “his” parking spot. in response, misha parked his car close to jared’s driver side door so he would have to get in through the passenger side. in retaliation, he let all the air out of misha’s tires, which led to misha calling caa so they could fill them. he considered having jared’s car towed while they were there, but jared came out before that happened. he then informed misha that if he had towed his car, he would have totalled misha’s.

Honestly? This seems like really weird, targeted bullying aimed at Misha in particular, but even if it's just cOmeDy PrAnkS, Jared doesn't always know when to stop.

That's why I think he can be a liability and Jensen knows it.

The way I've heard Jensen kind of talk around the issue in interviews, it sounds like JP probably has a bit of an anger problem. (I was also told he had an anger problem by someone who spent a LOT of time around him during SPN's earlier seasons, though my source chalked it up to roid rage.)

I will say that JP was kind to me when I was on the show as a body double for one of the day players, though. He chatted with me when usually leads would've ignored me, and he was friendly and not sleezy.

I don't think he's the overt asshole a lot of people are imagining he is, though he does seem to be letting his issues get the better of him, which isn't cool, especially when you have more power than the people you're raging at.

Oh? That's cool. It must be really interesting to be on a set and see all the behind-the-scenes stuff and whatnot.

I agree, he's not a monster, but he really *does* seem to have some impulse and anger issues that have had him lashing out and saying things (doing things) that were really ill-conceived/not well thought out/extremely shitty, some of which may be connected to mental health issues, but which certainly don't *excuse* him.

tbqh, I think Jensen's acting was the one that atrophied on that show. He was considerably more nuanced as Dean then Jared was as Sam in the first seasons, and that completely switched. I was so glad Jensen could challenge himself again with other stuff. Jared was actually way more thoughtful about Sam Winchester, and the various characters that had Sam Winchester's body, than he had to be.

As far as set...it's pretty clear imo that Misha and Jared tended to be ridiculous because set culture encouraged that, and Jensen was fully in it with them, but did significantly less instigating. Even people who don't like that type of set have described the whole set being Like That(tm), including Jensen.

Seriously? You think the man who gave us that wonderful goodbye between Dean and Cas, the subtle terrifying Mark of Cain's effects, and the equally horrible Michael possession was LESS nuanced than "bitchface #15" that needed CGI to mark the difference between Sam and Gadreel, and who couldn't act Lucifer anywhere NEAR with the same personality as Mark Pellegrino? That the man who constantly forgot what his character believed and thought and who thought that Dean dying was "great so Sam could get on with his life" took better interest in his character?

I also question why you think MISHA was ridiculous on set when he was, more often than not, the victim of Jared's pranks and whose takes were ruined by JAred EVEN when Misha was sick. But ok, if you say so.

Misha has literally said how he was on set, he's said so out loud in cons, you can look up videos, you don't need to take my word for it.
