(Anonymous) 2021-07-04 12:20 am (UTC)(link)But man, yeah...lmao even back then I loved "Blew Up the Clinic Real Good" because it was just so, so subversive, probably moreso because it's on the same album as the much more subtle tracks like Jim Morrison's Grave and On the Fritz. It was so naughty but also so on the nose that it went right over the heads of the very people it was mocking. Still does, but yeah, that was where most of the controversy was coming from. Oh, and the same people claimed that the tarot-based art of the cover was satanic, so that was just icing on the controversy cake. Right up there with the Cash Cow lyrics you quoted (THE BEST) I still whip out "ain't nothing wrong with this country a few plastic explosives won't cure!" even if it's. Well. Probably even more inappropriate overall oops.
