Ah yes, because this isn't a thing with EVERY type of video game at all.

Known Indie Game Series Silent Hill, for example, totes isn't about mental illness and trauma.

Just because a few AAA games have those topics as well doesn't change the fact that a large number of indie games do this, at a much larger percentage than among AAA titles.

And Witcher III didn't have an Alzheimer's/Dementia side quest. /s

It is definitely a thing in almost every video game. Most are more subtle about it, so unless you're actively looking for it, you won't catch it.
