I often have an opposite experience, where people tell me about a show/series but are super cryptic because they don’t want to spoil it.

Meanwhile, I know I’m not going to watch/read the thing (and wouldn’t mind spoilers even if I did), but would be happy to discuss what they like about it so much, if they would just tell me what actually happens. I try to say this politely, but instead get “but you *have* to watch/read it! And I don’t want to ruin it for you!”

This is me. Spoilers don't ruin things for me. In fact, I often spoil myself before going in because I feel like if I know the plot, I can really pay attention to the details. For me, if something isn't enjoyable once you know the plot and is repeatedly rewatchable, it isn't really that good and isn't worth watching.

I don't spoil others unless they ask. But I almost always go looking for spoilers and get frustrated when people refuse to spoil even when I say I want to be spoiled.

Same! Spoilers only really kinda mess with my experience if it's a mystery. It also may have changed how I viewed Get Out because I watched it after there was a lot of buzz and spoilers about.

I prefer to be spoiled for horror because I am scared very easily.
