Since when is racism not an "actual cause"? And before you respond with "wehweh it's just a movie cry more", take a moment to consider the huge amount of influence Hollywood has in American society, in terms of what's considered socially acceptable and "cool".

I'm sure they're talking about the third Tenchi OVA, where his mother's name was revealed to be Masaki Kiyone.

But I thought the first movie fit in with the OVAverse? In which case, even in the Mihoshi special, which I know is OVAverse, it's revealed that Kiyone was still Mihoshi's partner with the space police, so why does Tenchi's mom have the same name as Mihoshi's partner? Makes no sense (which I think comes from the fact that it took about 10 years to even come out with the third part of the OVA).

I don't claim to have any explanation for the mysterious ways that the producers' minds operate in.

Well, at least of the Akio Car arc.
