Well, I have never understood why the fandom hates on Aang. Seems silly and without reason. The only crime the boy seems to have committed is being the object of affection for Katara. And I find that to be ridiculous considering the preferred object of affection for Katara is a distorted "knight in shining armor, Prince Charming"-type Zuko who doesn't exist and truthfully detracts from the appeal of Zuko's character.

Aang is a perfectly delightful character. And so is Katara. And both are very much age-appropriate and easy to relate to because of that. Their responses to romance to me are far more appropriate than the fandom's distorted expectation. And in truth they are far more appealing.
