Omg a Bloom County secret! I was in my late teens/early 20s when this was popular, and this secret is spot on.

In hindsight I learned so much about the '80s (pop culture AND politics) from Bloom County. I just wanted something to read after I went through all of my Dad's Calvin and Hobbes books, and now I know shit like who Lee Iacocca and Spiro Agnew are, which only comes in handy on trivia nights. XD

This string at least went through the early 2000s. I remember because my mom really liked the strip that the U.S. shouldn't participate in torture and taped it to the fridge. It usually was way more right-wing.

The strip ended in '89, but the same guy did a spinoff strip in the early 90s and then another one (Opus) in the early 00s. That's also where I first became familiar with it.
