If OP really believes there are "so few pretty twinks in the world", I hope for their sake they never fall for a genuinely under-represented age/body type.

+1

lmao mte

Pour one out

(Anonymous) 2021-07-08 09:57 pm (UTC)(link)
I agree, but I can't help thinking how gross it would be if someone wrote this about female actors. ....lol?

(Anonymous) 2021-07-08 10:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Idt it's quite the same because while pretty twink isn't niche, it's not exactly conventionally masc either? So for men it'd be comparing nonconventionally masc to conventionally masc. Whereas for female actors it'd be conventionally fem -> conventionally fem

I feel like "switch the genders" rhetoric reduces a lot of the relevant culture and differences in which we treat genders and have been socialized.

Like, this isn't really going "hey this person is getting old I don't like that." It's going "this person was more pretty and is becoming more of what we consider masculine and I don't like that." The equivalent would be having a more masculine-presenting woman who is getting older and being more feminine and wistfully saying you like the more butch look better.

I feel like I would be a little weirded out by that tbh

(Anonymous) 2021-07-09 12:42 am (UTC)(link)
Actually, that's how I felt when I grew boobs in puberty so.

(Anonymous) 2021-07-08 11:08 pm (UTC)(link)
I mean, you're only a twink when you fit these characteristics as a young 20 something?? There ain't no late 20/30 year old twinks LOL

(Anonymous) 2021-07-08 11:45 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm not sure OP knows how time works, or what gay-slang actually means tbh.

(Anonymous) 2021-07-09 12:37 am (UTC)(link)
OP needs a better understanding of twink. The only time McAvoy was a twink was playing Robbie Turner in Atonement.

I mean... he had earlier roles in TV/movies dating back to his teens. That can't be the only one.

People get old, deal with it.

I admit I've seen pictures of older actors and thought "but they were so pretty!" but I try to squash it because time comes for us all. But focusing on James McCavoy?! Especially in the pictures you chose, idk what you're thinking, he's still adorable.

(Anonymous) 2021-07-09 02:33 am (UTC)(link)
If you mean he's gotten a little less pretty (boyish, soft) and a little more rugged, seasoned, then, yeah. But he is 42, so. It happens.

Thomas Doherty, also Scottish, is exactly 16 years younger.

Also, Timothy Chalamet, Tom Holland, Asa Butterfield, and Froy Gutierrez who all remind me a bit of James McAvoy, though in different ways.

Yeah but new ones are coming of age all the time. People are not a limited resource.

(Anonymous) 2021-07-09 04:17 am (UTC)(link)
...isn't that the whole point of twinks? That their time as a twink is limited? Then they grow up.

Though honestly I think Alan Cumming still has twink energy.

(Anonymous) 2021-07-09 08:37 pm (UTC)(link)
"Their time as a twink is limited"

Why you gotta make it sound so poetic lmfao

(Anonymous) 2021-07-09 10:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Alas, their twink time has faded.

(Anonymous) 2021-07-09 05:41 am (UTC)(link)
I'm not sure if twinkish-looking famous guys are really that limited in number. I mean, I guess there's a lot fewer of them than there is of more stereotypically masculine men, so okay they are comparatively few in number. But I don't think they're all that rare, really.

However, other than that, yes, I feel this secret very, very much. Also, I think one aspect that's being overlooked ITT is that famous twinks (or twinkish-looking men) do not merely age out of their twinkishness. Many of them hulk out of it. They get cast in some action movie and a year later they look eight years older and twenty-five pounds of muscle heavier. Or they deliberately style themselves out of it by growing facial hair, getting the most rugged-looking haircut they can, and sometimes even getting subtle facial fillers to make their faces more typically masculine.

I think if all the twinkish-looking famous men merely aged out of their twinkishness, those of us who find pretty, twinkish men the most attractive would probably be less sad to see them go. The natural aging process is one thing. Going on steroids that help you put on twenty pounds of muscle and also subtly change the shape of your jaw bone is a totally different thing.

OP Here

This is exactly what I was talking about, and I don't understand what everyone in this thread was getting at. A lot of actors who are known for being pretty and non-traditionally masculine and even talk about how happy they are with being that almost inevitably end up doing roles where they have to bulk up to a ridiculous extent. And then everyone goes on about how much more attractive they are now because men are so much more attractive when they look aggressively masculine, amurite?

This was a comment secret, and the lovely maker chose two photos a lot closer in age than I would have which I guess caused some confusion. Or people think DILF is an age thing rather than a specific type of look. But I was specifically talking about how actors who get a reputation for being 'pretty' almost always end up being put in positions where they have to become more traditional, not that they AGE.

“So few” pretty twinks? Seems like any actor not ‘roided up for a Marvel movie fits that these days. I prefer the middle ground personally.

Of course, I would use neither “pretty twink” or “butch daddy” to describe JM so clearly OP and I see the world through different lenses.

(Anonymous) 2021-07-10 12:32 am (UTC)(link)
Mmmm, loving those pictures you chose. McAvoy is just attractive at any age.
