Oh, god! That's horrible, OP!

(Anonymous) 2021-07-08 10:05 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't know what that is and I am definitely not going to Google it. Eep.

If you don't know what the Tulsa Massacre is and you're in the US, you should probably look it up and learn about it.

I'm not in the US, and I know way more about your shitty history than I want to at the point.

(Anonymous) 2021-07-08 10:15 pm (UTC)(link)
That's way too needlessly dark

I try not to think about stuff like that while watching The Simpsons, but you’re probably right.

Nah, if they had, there wouldn't still be a Shelbyville.

(Anonymous) 2021-07-08 10:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Lmao

(Anonymous) 2021-07-08 11:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Hahaha

Well, in one episode, Bart and Milhouse are talking about Jebediah Springfield and (I think) Milhouse mentions white settlers trading guns to the Native Americans for corn, and then "the Indians shot the settlers and took the corn", and its implied that it was the other way around (and closer to historical accuracy), so probably.

I mean, this is the Simpsons we are talking about. They might gear up to do something horrible on a mass level but we all know they'd be just as easily stopped by a kid pointing out that some detail they overlooked makes their rage unwarranted, or a crazy coincidence would distract them all for 15 minutes and they'd forget what they were upset about, or the town in question would offer them free burgers and they'd immediately bury the hatchet and declare the town their buddies

...Yeah, when I first saw this secret I kind of went "oh crap, this is true" but between this comment and the one about Shelbyville... naaaah, I think we're good. Hahahhaha...
