...Oh don't even get me started. -_- I have noted in the past that I am at this point just using Pink Floyd lyrics for nearly everything I write for Vagrant Story. Also cannot listen to a handful of Vienna Teng or Richard Shindell songs without muse noise in my brain.

Other fandoms though... I don't even know where to begin because I've been assigning songs to fandoms/characters/pairings since around 1996. Some of them are just goofy injokes, like my partner and I somehow determined when we were RPing/cowriting them that reboot Kirk and Spock are both really into Jim Steinman. And there was a Get Backers RP I was in where I was playing Emishi and thanks to "random interactions lounge with karaoke" antics I will never hear BNL's "One Week", the Doors' "Touch Me", or a handful of oldies with a straight face again.

More seriously and recently, I still seem to believe that someday I'm going to make a vid out of the last few eps of Tiger and Bunny with Queen's "The Show Must Go On". I got as far as making some clips for a Kotetsu and Kaede vid that was going to be set to Vienna Teng's "Daughter". -_-

And holy crap did it blow my mind when I listened to Muse's "Hoodoo" after a rewatch of the first Trek reboot and had Spock Prime on the brain. Muse in general, though, tends to be associated with Ace Attorney in my mind, because for some reason Klavier's band sounds pretty much like that in my headcanon.

TOS, GetBackers and Tiger & Bunny. I like your taste.

Hahah, thanks. Weirdly I don't have a lot of song calls for TOS classic - though once I did do a Spock/McCoy vid to Pink's "Please Don't Leave Me" just because I had such perfect footage for some of the lines. (Also got most of the way through one for the Indigo Girls' "Mystery" with Kirk/Spock/McCoy but never found a good clip for ONE LINE...)

A lot of my top fandoms, including those other two (...well okay, and TOS too - unless you take it really, really seriously) involve having a cast of characters that are simultaneously made of fail and made of absolute win. Also applies to Ace Attorney. XD

But hmm, other song associations for those... With GB, Counting Crows' "Accidentally In Love" was my ultimate Ban/Ginji song. Also shipped Masaki/Teshimine like burning in animeverse, Pink Floyd's "Wish You Were Here" was my choice there, while the Teshimine to my Masaki liked Vienna Teng's "Gravity". ...She was also the Amon to my Emishi in mangaverse and for awhile "Always Look On the Bright Side of Life" from Monty Python was her ringtone for me because of those two, and how perfect and completely utterly wrong that was. XD

With T&B, a lot of the stuff I now associate with it was injokes between the two of us, but Billy Joel's "The Longest Time" was such a perfect Kotetsu-to-Barnaby song IMO that we made a video at karaoke one night of me singing it to her with both of us in cosplay. :D That was a fun night.

I REMEMBER the Accidentally In Love GB vid!! "These lines of lightning mean we're never alone." Such a good reflection of the ship.

Oh wow, hahah, I wonder if someone else made one too or if you saw the one I made? I don't remember where I ever posted it except on my own webhosting space, linked off LJ, so I wouldn't have expected mine to get around much...

But yeah, that line just kind of had me sitting there with my jaw dropped when I listened to it in the context of GB. Dangit, now I miss those dorks. :D

That's my favorite GB vid. It really perfectly fits the characters and the context of the lyrics. Really great work!

Hahah, yeah, she's great for that. Off the top of my head I have two stories in my main fandom that ... well okay, one was spawned by my listening to the song and suddenly MULTICHAPTER PLOT WAIT WHAT, and the other was a situation where I had this story idea and I was brainstorming ideas for it and then realized "...Wait, Vienna Teng wrote a song about this exactly," and it hurt my heart terribly so then I knew I had a title and it had to be set in winter rather than autumn. ;)

There are a few artists like that, where the lyrics they write paint such incredibly vivid pictures and use just precisely the right words that have exactly the mood and feel I'm looking for... I mentioned Richard Shindell and Pink Floyd, also Suzanne Vega. Definitely my top lyricists.
