As somebody who's mostly very wishy-washy on Marvel movies, I thought it was *totally* a bog-standard Marvel movie, and it was generally the biggest problem with the film. All of the action was the exact same style of flashy, busy action sequences that are in every Marvel movie. There was the same quippy, snarky humor even when it felt like it didn't fit with the tone of a scene. And it felt like the beginning and ending of the film have to spend a ton of time telling us where and how it fits into Marvel chronology, and those scenes completely broke up the pacing of the film.

I didn't even hate the movie, but it was absolutely a typical Marvel movie to me, I don't agree at all that it was a different take.
