Same, OP. I was completely in awe of her when I was a kid. It wasn't enough to say she was beautiful, she just seemed like... I don't know, a fairy or something.

My copy of the book had a picture of her on the back cover and I had to hold the book just so when reading it so I didn't put my fingers on her face.

...I have never seen the movie, somehow (or maybe I did during the parts of my childhood that are blacked out), but a friend cosplayed this character some years ago and I was just like "wow, that's an awesome costume, she looks so incredible" and ... now I see that in addition, she totally nailed it.

So many movies from that time pain me to watch them but this one has actually aged pretty well.
Except for the animatonic wolf when it attacks Atreju. But the rest holds up surprisingly well.

She was one of my early life crushes. I can barely remember that movie but I remember thinking she was so beautiful.

They did a really good job of capturing that quality for this movie - costuming, makeup, mannerisms.
