There is no way to realistically cast actors as Austen heroines because most actors look like they take more than two baths a year.

I mean, I have the same pet peeve except the other way around. Brits (or Aussies) cast as Americans.
Like, I like Henry Cavill but you people could find an American to play Superman?!

This is so funny. As an American, I always wonder how inaccurate the accents are because I think it's fairly rare for non-Americans to get a non-regional accent right. There's always this telltale sharpness or over-enunciation of vowels, like an O or A is giving them a fight. I figured that it was probably the same when US actors try English accents (or Scottish, Irish, Australian).

This doesn't seem to happen very often. I actually had to sit and think a bit for recent examples of Americans in relatively recent Austen adaptations.

The teeth thing is a bit unreasonable. Yes, American dentistry is very distinctive, but jokes apart, it's not like British actors' mouths are untouched by dentists' hands, either.

I guess Anya Taylor-Joy is technically also American (due to being born in Miami), but I think she would identify as a British-Argentine. And Gwyneth Paltrow did play Emma, but that was 25 years ago. Those are the only movie roles in traditionally set Austen adaptations I can think of. Unless you mean Anne Hathaway as Austen. The only other iconic sort of 19th Century British woman with an American cast in the role I can think of is Beatrix Potter, played by Renée Zellweger.

...Since I don't actually have a clue what this is and there are no comments to give context for what I suspect is something creepy, I'm just going to go with "yay bunny!" because honestly unless this is something where a bunny dies or is hurt, I am always in favor of bunny.

Like, there's this weird thing that it's not entirely out of character. But also the first main character who's LGBT seemingly may be being shown as in love with himself as a woman. And that kinda rubs me wrong
