No vaccine in existence is 100%. But these are more effective than even the annual flu vaccines, and everyone considers the flu vaccines to be effective at preventing people from catching/spreading the flu, so why are people making such a big deal over the COVID vaccines not being 100%?

The entire point of getting vaccinated in the first place is that there's a much, much lower chance of you being infected. It doesn't mean it can't happen, it just means that the odds of it happening are statistically very low.

Actually vaccines don't prevent you from getting infected at all, they just teach your immune system how to fight the infection so you don't get any (severe) symptoms. A fully vaccinated person even with 100% efficacy can still be a carrier of the virus and spread it to others. This is where mask are still useful, but its also extremely reasonable for people with underlying health issues to not wear the masks if it will greatly affect their health.
