I'm much more bothered by all the reviews stating "Just like Harry Potter but ~better~". But that's on me, hoping to find a book that has a similar setting with better characters and plot, it's just not happening lol

I never trust anything that states itself to be the next Lord of the Rings/Harry Potter or whatever successful media franchise they're trying to mimic. It usually tells me from that alone that it has nothing to offer by its own narrative. I know its just a marketing tactic to sell a story, but thanks to bland clones trying to mimic the 'successful' stories its become a bit meaningless.
