I see it more as the totally settling down thing versus the married thing. I mean, a few days after singing about her woes she goes and commits herself to a man and his huge castle? Eh.

Well, part of what she wanted was adventure and someone who understood, both of which she has (or has had, at least) in the Beast/Prince. I always figured she just didn't want to be trapped in a dead end town, with a dead end marriage... even if she "settles down" with the prince, I'm sure her life will still be exciting and interesting. ;-)

Um. . .No. Like I said, not the marriage, but the settling down and living forever in a huge castle thing. . . It's totally possible to live an adventurous life with a partner. :/

Nothing said she totally settled down, after all. And the same guys she "commited herself to"? It's the guy she actually *tamed*, the one she taught that he cannot treat others the way he doesn't want to be treated. And whom I'm sure she tops fierce. =)

There's nothing inherently wrong and horrible with settling down and/or falling in love. The idea that marriage is demeaning to women is, imho, asinine, since it advocates "female liberation" but actually *limits* a woman's freedom to act by browbeating and passing shallow judgement towards a female who makes a choice in life that YOU (general you) don't like. Where's the "liberation" in *that*, I don't know.

Okay. I never once said anything against marriage in any of my comments. Where is everyone getting the idea that I'm so anti-marriage? I even said in my comment I am NOT attacking the fact she got married. And I'm not even the freaking OP. I was just giving my two cents on what they might have meant because I kind of understand.

I am actually very FOR marriage. I myself hope to get married some day, and I don't find it a way of totally losing your liberties at all. I mean, obviously it CAN mean that, but I hope I'll marry a person that's better than that. I hope this for everyone else, too.

I am not against marriage in any way. And I still fail to see why I am receiving all these comments when the OP was the one who implied marriage was bad and I did not.

Yeah. I really, really hate how some fans start "but marriage limits you as a woman so much" or "that female chara got married/is dating BAWWWW NO". It's, well... hypocritical, IMHO. -shudders and huggles Miyako from Digimon 02, yeah we could've had more detail on her and Ken's house life but WTF bashers, stop bitchlapping her*

And about adventure... well, I remember being a tiny bookworm who was too busy squealing over the HUGE library the Beast had in the castle to care. And now that I think of it, well, continuing to check on the books might be a good first adventure for Belle, me thinks. :P *shrugs*

I've always been baffled by the concept of time. 'Cause yes, that's true, but also. . Lefou sits in a bank of snow for what appears to be the entire winter. That's simply impossible. I shouldn't have brought up time at all because it doesn't seem to be very consistent in the movie. Probably to keep with the magical quality. (:
