I get what you're saying, but I always thought both Sam and Carly were a bleep away from cursing in the first place.

I don't know if I'm explaining it right but this read to me as the kind of show dialogue was in watsonian tension with the type of holmesian characters that existed, so this reads fine to me.

I did like it, lol, but yeah the lack of Sam changes things.
