SAME. Threatening to kill a child has lost pretty much all impact for me because the narrative virtually never goes through with it, so it doesn't even register as a real threat to me anymore. If a character does that, it's always like "ah so they're going to be saved at the very last minute, got it" and there's no tension there, whereas if they threaten to kill an adult character there's a much better chance that it might actually happen.
