Okay, so you don't want to actually fix your problem, you just want to whine.

No, I was hoping someone here would know a way to keep treating twitter like an open website and not have to sign up. If I was just complaining and not hoping for a fix that doesn't involve making an account, I would've made a vent thread and not asked a question.

I do like to whine. That's just not why I posted this time.

You don't want to be the product, but you use the entire web. Fuck off, Grandparent, you're the product anyway.

AYRT--this is bizarre. I've never spoken to anyone who doesn't think of the monetization and tracking of user data as at best a necessary evil because servers and programmers have to be paid for somehow, before.

I know there's no escaping user tracking, but acting like opting out to the extent possible is, idk, something to be furious about is weird. And I'm not even particularly vigorous about it because I'm not tech savvy enough to be.

I'm not judging people who sign up for social media sites, I buy from amazon and use a smartphone, so any digital privacy I have is absolutely an illusion.

NAYRT Not got a solution for you I'm afraid, OP. Just want to let you know that you come off as the same one in this thread. Yeesh.

Thanks. "Fuck off, Grandparent, you're the product anyway" reads like (gender-neutral, so points for inclusion I guess?) dialogue from the two-bit villain in a made for tv movie about an evil executive bulldozing a senior center.

Like, sorry I'm trying and failing to avoid providing minuscule ad revenue to big corporations?

How could you?? (Sarcasm) I wouldn't worry about it though, they clearly haven't had an original thought in their lives.
