You feel uncomfortable because the fannish culture made you feel that way. I'm old, and trust me, nobody batted an eye at themselves or anyone else for writing explicit porn of teenage or sometimes even younger characters and talking about how hot it was.

Also of note is that nobody did this with teenage characters played by real life teenage actors as far as I know, because that would involve actual minors and that's very different, a distinction this same current fannish culture has taught us not to make.

Well, I'm old, and I batted plenty an eye over it. I didn't judge. But I didn't partake, because fantasizing about characters that young makes me uncomfortable. And trust me, that's not a rare sentiment.

Also, it's funny you should say that "fannish culture" made me feel uncomfortable with sexualizing fictional minors, because fannish culture has actually made me (and most fen I know) far more comfortable with just about every kind of fictional kink imaginable. So I think you might need to redo your math on that one.
