125. Where is this ship bashing? I mean I have never seen it in the main Avatar comms, and most of the Azula/Ty Lee shippers don't go around bashing het ships and whatever.

I don't actually think Azula is a lesbian, but I personally don't think she has much chemistry with any of the boys of the show that aren't incestuous. Whereas I feel her relationships with Ty Lee and Mai are much more open to crossing that line.

142. Oh my god yes, they couldn't do anything with her? She became a ghost of who she was, instead of trying to shoehorn her into roles that just didn't fit. Yeah, that makes me pissy too, I loved Cordy, and I also think it is sad that Angel ended with only one person who had been on it since the very beginning.

Um, still not seeing it, the thread you linked to consisted of one person, hardly the whole faction of people who ship Azula/Ty Lee. And that person didn't seem to insult anyone who ships it. I guess I don't consider bashing unless people go personally out of the way to insult the people who ship it as opposed to just saying certain types of ships make no sense to them. There is nothing wrong with thinking or saying that as long as you accept that not everyone feels the same way.

Well, opinions are like assholes, as I say in that post. In my opinion, there's no need of being rude when you say you don't agree with something. Take it as me (being a het!Azula shipper) saying something like that to you. I guess you won't be happy with it, will you?

Honestly, no it wouldn't bother me, as long as you don't say I am stupid for thinking otherwise. But just saying that Ty Lee/Azula makes no sense, no not really, because it might honestly make no sense to you so I am going to respect that. The current het ships that get written for Azula make no sense to me, but then again that is me. I just don't think that person was being that insulting to people who felt differently.

What I wanted to say is that everybody is free to like or despise a character/a pairing/whatever, just like everybody is free to get offended by a rude comment.

I can't see Azula being with a girl, but as you say, that's just me. Just like I respect everybody's tastes/opinions in a fandom, I just ask the same respect in return. I do not like Azula/Ty Lee, but I won't go on a general community for a character and comment things like the ones that were commented there, because probably people who happen to like to write/draw/like that would get pissed at me, and they would have plenty of rights to do so, because I would have been rude to them.

No pairing should be misprized, and I felt that mine and others were, IMHO.

I guess my only point, is that one person as shown in that thread is not representative of a full scale bashing, nor should be taken as representative of one group. I am sorry that this one person was rude but one person hardly makes a bash heavy fandom which is what I guess I was responding too. I mean it doesn't seem to be that widespread of a thing as to come up outside of that one comm and I honestly didn't find anything other then the link you showed me, which suggests that it is probably a really small group of people, and hardly the whole or even majority of Azula/Ty Lee fandom.

But this may also be relative, my first fandom, I was very much into the het ship while everyone in the fandom seemed to adore a slash ship (which in this case was male/male) and it was to the point where this hate was found on every website, every forum, and that if you even so much said you liked the female character you were called a "homophobe" (never mind whether you even liked her in said pairing), and it was everywhere, you couldn't escape it and I finally left because of it (only to return now that the fandom is older, smaller, and saner). So the comment that you linked seemed just really really tame to me, maybe a bit inappropriate for the setting but hardly a full on bashing.
