The Edge Chronicles. The bulk of them take place within a century, and it's a very vibrant, changing century. Power blocks come and go, technology changes, the ECONOMY has massive upheavals due to world events. New markets appear due to world events. Markets DISappear due to world events. Different careers have different values depending on the needs of that era. It's FANTSTIC.

I hadn't thought of the Edge Chronicles like this, but you're absolutely right. It's all about change. I find them pretty disturbing tbh, especially the illustrations - a bit like Alice in Wonderland - but the stories are undeniably great.
