(Anonymous) 2021-08-09 11:00 pm (UTC)(link)Psychological and/or supernatural thrillers might yield what you're looking for instead but both of those genres also often dabble heavily in matters relating to the physical or metaphysical fear of death. If not those genres, perhaps it's best to ignore recent film trends altogether and watch older cinema, especially from around the world and from different cultures.
