As a translator, I agree. It's one thing if you're translating something set in a generic fantasy world where you can likely find English-language equivalents to the honorifics being used in that situation. It's another thing entirely when you're translating something set in an Asian (or pseudo-Asian) setting where the honorifics are actually a crucial part of the character relationships and tell you a great deal about them.
